Typically in CARS+ salespersons are assigned to customers by the CDPID number. That is, there is a field in the Edit Corporate Account record to specify the an individual salesperson who should be linked to the corporate account.

In some cases, however, a company with a single CDPID number may have multiple offices, sometimes in multiple cities. Therefore, this may require that more than one member of the sales staff be assigned to the account, which means that a single CDPID number may be served by several sales staff members.

The Customer Salesman file is used when a single CDPID number is served by several salesmen as an alternative to the typical set up.

Use this program to create, edit and delete records from the Customer Salesman file.

Note that global changes to salesman assignments in the Salesman Customer File can be made through the Mass Apply Salesman Codes program located on the Salesman Sub-menu. A listing of records in the Salesman Customer File can be obtained through the Salesman to Customer Listing program also located on that menu.

To access the program, type EDITCSLS (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate number on the Sales Control Files Menu. The screen will then display:

Enter data as follows:

1. CUSTOMER NO.	Enter up to 6 alphanumeric characters representing the Customer number. EXAMPLE: Type C100 (RET)
2. SALESMAN NO.	Enter up to 6 alphanumeric characters representing the Employee Code of the Salesperson as set up in the User Access File. EXAMPLE: Type JEG (RET)
3. EFFECTIVE DATE	Using your selected date format, enter the effective date. EXAMPLE: Type 040105 (RET)
4. TERMINATION DATE	Using your selected date format, enter the termination date if there is one. If there is no termination date, press (RET). EXAMPLE: Type 123105 (RET)

PRESS "F1" AT "OPTION:" TO SAVE.

User tip: When the Salesman Customer File is used, the Salesman Revenue Report and the RA Summary Report can be modified by creating a GVT record.
